The 2000 BSFA AWARDS shortlist has been announced:
   BEST NOVEL: Perdido Street Station by China Miéville; redRobe by Jon Courtenay Grimwood; Paradox by John Meaney; Revelation Space by Alistair Reynolds; and Ash: A Secret History by Mary Gentle.
   BEST SHORT FICTION: "Destiny on Tartarus" by Eric Brown (from Spectrum SF #2); "La Vampiresse" by Tanith Lee (from Interzone #154); "Adventures in the Ghost Trade" by Liz Williams (from Interzone #154); "Singing Each to Each" by Paul di Filippo (from Interzone #155); and "The Suspect Genome" by Peter F. Hamilton (from Interzone #156).
   BEST ARTWORK: "Physiognomies of Flight" by China Miéville (cover of Vector #213); "Hideaway" by Dominic Harman (cover of Interzone #157); and "Afetere's Eyes" by Gerald Gaubert (from Scheherazade #19).
   The BSFA Awards have been presented annually since the 1960s. The shortlist is determined by the membership of the British Science Fiction Association, and voted on by the BSFA and the membership of Eastercon (the annual British National Science Fiction convention). This year's awards will be presented on the evening of Sunday 15th April at the Hanover International Hotel, Leicestershire, England, the venue for Paragon, the 2001 Eastercon.
