The Science and Medicine Special Interest Group
of the American Society of Indexers (Sci/Med SIG, ASI) has recently created a
Web site at http://www.scimedindexers.org/ . The Web site offers features of
interest to editors, indexers, writers, and anyone else involved in the
publishing industry. Examples include the following:
* An online resource guide with links to helpful Web sites, focusing primarily
on scientific and medical topics but also containing links of more general
interest. The resource guide is constantly under construction: If you would like
to suggest a link to add, please e-mail me at ellisonh@amsquality.com .
* A directory of our members, containing descriptions of the types of materials
we index and our contact information. The directory is searchable by subject
specialization, location (state), languages indexed, and name.
* Announcements of Sci/Med SIG news and events.
Any indexers interested in joining the Sci/Med SIG should visit the "membership"
page of our site or e-mail the SIG manager, Willa MacAllen, at
macallen@mindspring.com.
Best regards,
Homer Ellison
